English recording artiste, Adele, has revealed in an interview with Vanity Fair that she has been battling with postpartum depression and is scared of having another baby after the birth of their first son, Angelo, in 2012.
Talking about dealing with the depression, the ‘Rolling in the Deep’ singer said, “My knowledge of postpartum — or post-natal, as we call it in England — is that you don’t want to be with your child; you’re worried you might hurt your child; you’re worried you weren’t doing a good job.
“But I was obsessed with my child. I felt very inadequate. Eventually I just said, I’m going to give myself an afternoon a week, just to do whatever I want without my baby. A friend of mine said, ‘Really? Don’t you feel bad?’ I said, I do, but not as bad as I’d feel if I didn’t do it.”
When asked if she plans to have another baby, Adele said she didn’t think so, explaining, “I’m too scared. I had really bad postpartum depression after I had my son, and it frightened me… I didn’t talk to anyone about it. I was very reluctant.”
The 28-year-old commented that being happy wasn’t necessarily the ideal situation for an artiste, explaining it made it “impossible’ to pen songs for her album because, ‘to be honest, I wasn’t sad”.
Adele took four years off between albums to focus on her son Angelo, now four, with her 42-year-old partner, Simon Konecki, before releasing her third studio album, 25, on November 20, 2015.Ad ==> A Former One Minute Man Who Now Last 35mins+in Bed Reveals The Secret Of His New Strength.
