Five suspects arrested over the murder of Bridget Agbahime, an Imo state indigene, in Kano state have been declared innocent.
Mrs. Bridget was reportedly murdered by a mob for blaspheming Prophet Mohammed.
The suspects- Dauda Admed, Abdulmumeen Mustafa, Zubairu Abubakar, Abdullahi Abubakar, and Musa Abdullahi had been arrested and charged with culpable homicide, inciting disturbance, joint act, and mischief by the police afterwards.
On Thursday however, a Magistrate Court in Kano state presided by Chief Magistrate Muhammad Jibril declared them innocent and discharged them, on the advice of the State attorney general.
“The legal advice presented to the court, dated June 24, states that there is no case to answer, as the suspects are all innocent, and orders the court to discharge all suspects,” he said.
